Job summary

Bentley Truck Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced technician to support our shop operations in Philadelphia. This role involves diagnosing and repairing gasoline and diesel engines, updating work orders, and coordinating with management to improve shop performance.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience, strong mechanical and electrical skills, and ASE certifications are preferred. Pennsylvania and New Jersey licensing requirements are noted for respective locations.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and electrical experience, including diagnostics and repairs.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance manuals.
• Proficiency with OEM software and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Utilize diagnostic equipment to analyze, diagnose and repair gasoline and diesel engines and subsystems.
• Keep abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Update supervisor and computer systems on work performed.
• Follow procedures to obtain parts for jobs assigned.
• Ensure warranty procedures are followed.
• Participate in training to obtain certifications.

Job Summary

Opportunity to use exceptional skills and knowledge to support overall business goals while mentoring and developing other technicians. Will work very closely with the management team to provide insight on overall shop operations.

Responsibilities

• Utilize advanced diagnostic computer equipment/software in the analysis, diagnosis, repair of gasoline and diesel engines and their related subsystems/components.
• Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Update supervisor and computer systems on work performed.
• Follow procedures related to obtaining parts for jobs assigned.
• Assure warranty procedures are followed.
• Participate and complete Manufacturing training to obtain certifications.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability to work on trucks, climbing into and out of, crawling under to make repairs.
• Ability to work safely and promote safety in the workplace.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals and electronic repair and troubleshooting manuals.
• Ability to use PC to update work order status and explain maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to explain verbally and written form the status of work orders.
• Ability to keep management aware of any concerns in the shop.
• Must be dependable.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical and electrical experience.
• Strong diagnostic ability and familiarity with OEM software.
• 7+ years of experience working on gas/diesel equipment.
• Refrigeration unit experience a plus.
• CDL B, or willingness to obtain it in 120 days.
• ASE Certifications, preferred. Our goal would be to have this individual fully certified.
• For Pennsylvania Locations - PA State Inspection License
• For New Jersey Locations - NJ Diesel Emission Certification
• For Miami, Florida - Miami/Dade County License
