Job summary

Chairmans Foods is looking for a Master Data Specialist to manage critical data across ERP and business systems, enabling accurate product commercialization, procurement, inventory, and manufacturing processes.

You will create and maintain item, customer, vendor, BOM, formulas, routings, and pricing data, while ensuring data standards and ERP readiness for new launches. Strong Excel, ERP and BI skills are required, with food manufacturing experience a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in master data management, ERP administration, or data analytics.
  • Manufacturing or food industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience maintaining item masters, BOMs, formulas, routings, or material master data.
  • Experience supporting ERP systems such as Macola, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and update item, customer, vendor, BOMs, formulas, routings, and pricing data.
  • Ensure timely and accurate setup of new products, ingredients, packaging materials, and finished goods.
  • Maintain data standards and naming conventions across systems.
  • Review data requests for completeness and accuracy prior to entry.
  • Perform ongoing audits of master data to identify discrepancies and resolve them.
  • Support new product introductions and commercialization activities by coordinating with R&D, Procurement, Operations, Customer Experience, and Finance.
  • Create and maintain product specifications and system attributes.
  • Ensure ERP readiness for new customer launches and product transitions.
  • Establish and maintain data governance procedures; monitor data quality metrics.
  • Generate reports and data extracts; analyze master data trends and system usage.
  • Develop dashboards and KPIs related to data quality and process performance.
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Customer Service, Procurement, Sales, R&D, and IT to resolve data issues; provide end-user training.
  • Participate in ERP implementations, upgrades, and process improvement projects.

The Master Data Specialist is responsible for maintaining critical business data, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and governance of master data across ERP and business systems. This role supports product commercialization, procurement, inventory management, manufacturing, customer service, finance, and supply chain operations by creating, validating, and maintaining item, customer, vendor, BOM, formula, and pricing data to include customer profiles, product specifications, and vendor details.

The Master Data Specialist ensures data consistency across systems, supports new product launches, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and serves as a key resource for data quality and process standardization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Master Data Management
  • Create, maintain, and update item master records, customer records, vendor records, bills of materials (BOMs), formulas, routings, and pricing data.
  • Ensure timely and accurate setup of new products, ingredients, packaging materials, and finished goods.
  • Maintain data standards and naming conventions.
  • Review and validate data requests for completeness and accuracy prior to system entry.
  • Perform ongoing audits of master data to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support new product introductions and commercialization activities by coordinating master data setup with R&D, Procurement, Operations, Customer Experience, and Finance.
  • Create and maintain product specifications and associated system attributes.
  • Ensure ERP readiness for new customer launches and product transitions.
Data Governance & Compliance
  • Establish and maintain data governance procedures.
  • Monitor data quality metrics and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop documentation for data management processes and controls.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
Reporting & Analysis
  • Generate reports and data extracts to support operational decision-making.
  • Analyze master data trends, errors, and system usage.
  • Develop dashboards and KPIs related to data quality and process performance.
  • Support inventory accuracy, costing, production planning, and procurement initiatives through data analysis.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Customer Service, Procurement, Sales, R&D, and IT to resolve data-related issues.
  • Provide training and support to end users on data management processes.
  • Participate in ERP implementations, upgrades, and process improvement projects.
Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in master data management, ERP administration, supply chain analytics, or related data-focused role.
  • Manufacturing or food industry experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience supporting ERP systems such as Macola, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or similar.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Technical Skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems and database management.
  • Power BI or other business intelligence reporting tools preferred.
  • Strong understanding of data structures and business process workflows.
