Job summary

Crescent Energy is seeking an MDM Analyst to join the Master Data team in Houston. The role focuses on accuracy and timely maintenance of enterprise master data in SAP, working with Accounting, Operations, and IT to fulfill data requests and resolve issues.

You'll validate data, improve quality, and document standards while supporting audits, reports, and system projects. A bachelor's degree and 2+ years in data management or related fields are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Accounting, Finance, Business, Data Analytics, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 2+ years of professional experience in master data, accounting, operations, business systems, data quality, or related area.
• Intermediate Excel skills (formulas, lookups, filters, large data sets).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify patterns and inconsistencies.
• Ability to follow controls and work across functions to resolve exceptions.

This opportunity is well suited for an early-career professional with practical experience in master data, SAP, accounting, operations, or data quality. Level will be determined based on relevant qualifications and experience.POSITION SUMMARYThe MDM Analyst supports the accuracy, completeness, and timely maintenance of enterprise master data in SAP. The role works closely with Accounting, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Technology, and other business teams to execute master data requests, resolve data issues, strengthen controls, and improve the efficiency of data-management processes. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and interested in developing broader SAP and upstream oil and gas knowledge.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES· Create, update, and maintain master data in SAP accurately, in the proper sequence, and within established service-level expectations so dependent business processes can be completed reliably.· Review master data requests for completeness, required approvals, supporting documentation, and compliance with established standards and controls.· Perform data validation and quality checks to identify duplicate, obsolete, incomplete, or inconsistent records and coordinate remediation.· Research and resolve master data issues by tracing data across SAP records, source systems, workflows, and supporting documentation.· Partner with Accounting, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Technology, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and improve data quality.· Support recurring data-quality reporting, reconciliations, audits, and control activities.· Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate master data processes, including the use of Excel and other available tools.· Document procedures, business rules, data definitions, and changes to master data standards.· Assist with system implementations, acquisitions, integrations, conversions, and other special projects as needed.· Manage multiple requests and projects while communicating status, risks, and dependencies clearly.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS· Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.· Two or more years of relevant professional experience in master data, accounting, operations, business systems, data quality, or a related area.· Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including experience working with formulas, lookups, filters, and large data sets.· Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify patterns, exceptions, and data inconsistencies.· Ability to follow established controls and procedures while applying sound judgment to resolve exceptions.· Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.· Ability to work effectively across functions and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS· Experience using SAP or another enterprise resource planning system.· Experience with master data creation, maintenance, cleansing, standardization, validation, or governance.· Exposure to upstream oil and gas operations, accounting, joint ventures, wells, cost centers, vendors, materials, or related data domains.· Experience with workflow, ticketing, reporting, data visualization, SQL, or automation tools.· Interest in developing deeper expertise in SAP master data management, data governance, and process improvement.WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE· Master data requests are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with documented controls.· Data issues are investigated thoroughly and communicated clearly to the appropriate stakeholders.· Recurring problems are identified and translated into practical process, control, or automation improvements.· Business partners view the MDM team as responsive, reliable, and knowledgeable.Crescent Energy is an equal opportunity employer.
