Job description

Champion Petfoods is seeking a detail-oriented Master Data Analyst for a 12-month contract joining the Project Management Office (PMO). In this hybrid role in Louisville, CO, you will help keep critical business data accurate, high quality, and properly managed across its lifecycle, supporting a "one source of truth" approach for domains like Product, Customer, Supplier/Vendor, and Location. You will work closely with the PMO Director, the Master Data Manager, and business data stewards to connect project milestones (including New Product Introductions) with hands-on Master Data Management (MDM) execution.

Why you will like working here
  • Compensation: USD $78,000 to $107,000 yearly, plus 401k with Company and donation matching.
  • Additional options: CAD 86,000 to 115,000 with RRSP with Company matching.
  • Support for your wellbeing: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Employee Assistance Programs for individual and family needs.
  • Learning and education: In House & Online Learning & Development and an Education Assistance Program.
  • Extra perks: Free bag of premium pet food each month, free parking, and more.
What you’ll be doing
  • Perform hands-on creation, maintenance, and modification of master data records across key domains, with primary focus on Product (product catalogs, packaging specs, formulation recipes, and hierarchies) plus Customer, Supplier/Vendor, and Location.
  • Troubleshoot data entry issues and fix naming inconsistencies (for example, standardizing brand nomenclature such as "Six Fish" vs. "6 Fish" and "Recipe" vs. "RCP") to prevent downstream operational problems.
  • Run regular data audits and execute cleansing procedures for obsolete, duplicate, or unused data to keep the database usable and prevent time spent searching.
  • Follow established data standards, workflows, controls, and policies defined by the Master Data Manager and Finance Governance.
  • Coordinate with PMO Project Managers to track and manage master data readiness for New Product Introductions (NPI), stage-gate processes, and supply chain transitions.
  • Support cross-functional data collection workflows by partnering with Business Data Stewards in Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure correct inputs are gathered and uploaded on project timelines.
  • Assist the Master Data Manager and IT teams with requirements gathering, data structure definition, and smooth automated integration across enterprise systems (including ERP, PLM, and MDM tools).
  • Produce regular status reports and dashboards on data readiness, quality metrics, and bottleneck areas for the PMO and Master Data Manager.
  • Help develop training materials and provide ongoing support to business users and Data Stewards on master data management workflows and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, simplify processes, and recommend automation within the PMO and across business units.
What you bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Master Data Specialist, or Product Information Analyst, ideally in a CPG or manufacturing environment.
  • Foundational understanding of Master Data Management (MDM), including data governance, stewards, owners, schemas, and hierarchies.
  • A strong ability to spot and fix data discrepancies.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills and follow-through to meet data deadlines.
  • A proactive, detail-focused approach that helps resolve complex data confusion and build standardized processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while aligning to strict project timelines.
  • Strong proficiency with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, JD Edwards) and experience with PLM/MDM tools.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data cleaning functions.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or PMO collaboration software is a plus.
