Job summary

Sinclair, Inc. is seeking a Master Control Supervisor to oversee the playout and origination of 30+ CW, MeTV, MyNet, and independent stations from a cloud-based Master Control platform.

You will lead a 20+ person team, focus on training, performance management, and operational consistency. You will support live broadcasts, develop new processes, monitor performance, and act as liaison with various internal teams.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience as a Master Control Operator, Master Control Technician, or in a comparable role within television, media, or content operations.
• Demonstrated leadership, coaching, training, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with on-air Master Control automation systems.
• Experience with cloud-based playout systems; AMAGI CLOUDPORT experience is a plus.
• Strong written communication skills, including the ability to create and maintain technical operating procedures.
• Experience troubleshooting operational issues involving playout, media, closed captioning, and related broadcast systems.
• Experience with digital workflows and digital video technologies.
• Experience with content ingest, playout, distribution systems, and related hardware.
• Experience switching live local newscasts and sporting events.
• Experience supporting local television station operations.
• Ability to work any shift in a 24/7 operation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong organizational, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm, focused, and effective in a fast-paced live broadcast environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Media Operations Center.
• Lead, train, and mentor new Master Control Operators, ensuring they are fully prepared to perform their responsibilities independently and consistently.
• Provide ongoing training, refresher training, and skills development for current Master Control Operators.
• Support the team during live local newscasts, breaking news, and local or network sports events.
• Assist the Senior Manager with developing, implementing, and training staff on new processes, workflows, and SOPs.
• Monitor operator performance and provide timely coaching, feedback, and corrective guidance.
• Ensure completion of daily operational tasks and adherence to established workflows, policies, and procedures.
• Serve as a liaison between the Media Operations Center and internal or external partners.
• Perform Master Control Operator duties when needed.
• Assist with incident review, root-cause analysis, documentation, and corrective-action plans.
• Support staffing needs, attendance management, shift coverage, and unscheduled absences.
• Prepare and participate in employee performance evaluations and annual reviews.
• Promote positive employee relations and maintain a professional, respectful, and accountable work environment.
• Assist with special projects, reporting, and operational improvement initiatives.
• Approach operations, staffing, and process improvement with an agile and lean mindset.

As a Master Control Supervisor, you will support the playout and origination of 30+ CW, MeTV, MyNet, and independent television stations from our cloud-based Master Control platform. Major Responsibilities

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $20.00 to $25.00 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates' relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
