Job description

OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE

Licensed Massage Therapist (Recovery & Performance Focus)

ABOUT US

At Optimal Performance, we don’t just offer services — we help people look, feel, and perform at their best.

Our Optimal Recovery service menu provides an experience that combines contrast therapy, recovery modalities, and hands-on care to help athletes and busy professionals recover faster, reduce stress, and optimize their health.

We are looking for a licensed massage therapist who shares our belief that:

Recovery is not a luxury — it’s essential to performance and longevity.

THE ROLE

As a Massage Therapist on our team, you’ll deliver intentional, results-driven bodywork that supports:

  • Recovery from training.

  • Stress management and nervous system regulation.

  • Mobility, pain relief, and overall wellness.

This is not a “spa-only” role — it’s an opportunity to be part of a performance and recovery ecosystem.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Deliver High-Quality, Customized Bodywork:

  • Perform a range of massage modalities based on client goals, including:

    • Deep tissue.

    • Sports massage.

    • Recovery-focused sessions.

    • Relaxation / stress-reduction work.

  • Adapt pressure, technique, and flow based on client feedback and needs.

Guide the Client Experience:

  • Welcome clients and create a calm, professional environment.

  • Ask the right questions to understand:

    • Goals (pain relief, stress, recovery, performance).

    • Lifestyle and stress load.

  • Educate clients on how massage fits into their overall recovery plan.

Build Personalized Treatment Plans:

  • Identify tension patterns, imbalances, and areas of restriction.

  • Recommend frequency and type of sessions based on goals.

  • Collaborate with team members (coaches, recovery staff) when appropriate.

Support a Premium Recovery Environment:

  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment rooms.

  • Utilize complementary tools (heat, infrared, etc.) to enhance results.

  • Document sessions and track client progress.

WHO YOU ARE

You’re not just technically skilled — you’re client-focused, intuitive, and growth-minded.

You:

  • Are passionate about helping people feel and function better.

  • Understand the connection between stress, recovery, and performance.

  • Can communicate clearly and confidently with a variety of clients.

  • Thrive in a team environment and want to grow your skillset.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Active state massage therapy license.

  • Experience in massage therapy (spa, clinic, or performance setting).

  • Knowledge of multiple massage modalities.

  • CPR certified (or willing to obtain).

  • Ability to stand and perform physical work for extended periods.

  • Strong communication and client service skills.

BONUS (NOT REQUIRED, BUT A PLUS)

  • Experience working with athletes or active adults.

  • Interest in recovery modalities (contrast therapy, infrared, etc.).

  • Background in fitness, health, or wellness coaching.

WHY OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE

  • Be part of a high-level, growth-focused team.

  • Work in an environment that blends performance + recovery + wellness.

  • Opportunity to grow within Optimal Recovery and coaching systems.

  • Make a real impact on how clients feel, move, and live.

APPLY IF

You’re ready to:

  • Deliver more than just a service.

  • Be part of a system that prioritizes results.

  • Help clients truly optimize their recovery and performance.
