Job summary

The Landings Golf and Athletic Club on Skidaway Island near Savannah, GA, is seeking a professional Massage Therapist to deliver spa treatments, educate members, and uphold sanitation standards. You will work with a team to promote wellness services and assist in all spa operations.

Applicants must hold a current state Massage Therapist license, have 2 years of experience preferred, and be capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced luxury club environment. Nights/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Holds and maintains a current state Massage Therapist license.
• 2 years' experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge and applicability of numerous massage modalities and body treatments (e.g., Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, Reiki).

Responsibilities

• Provides consistent professional massage and body treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
• Educates members on specific wellness concerns after evaluation is completed.
• Informs membership of and promotes all services, discounts and retail offered at the Wellness Center.
• Upholds sanitation and sterilization standards as directed by law and spa policies.
• Performs prep work, cleans and Restocks room as required.
• Communicates to management any occurrences involving staff or guests requiring attention.
• Responds professionally to members and guests' questions and concerns.
• Maintains a positive attitude and supports training and staff meetings.

Massage Therapist Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provides consistent professional massage and body treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices.
• Educates members on specific wellness concerns after evaluation is completed (while being clear that such information is not medical advice).
• Is careful with equipment and uses moderate amounts of product to assist with cost controls.
• Informs membership of and promotes all services, treatments, discounts and retail offered at the Wellness Center.
• Upholds the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures.
• Performs prep work, properly cleans and restocks room as required.
• Communicates to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention in a prompt manner.
• Responds to members and or guests’ questions and concerns professionally, promptly and courteously.
• Possesses the ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
• Maintains a positive attitude and contributes toward a quality work environment.
• Attends, participates in and supports training and staff meetings.
• Assists in all areas of spa services operation as requested by management.
• Communicates to management any and all occurrences involving staff, members, or guests in The Landings Club that require attention.
• Complies with departmental uniform and grooming standards.
• Works effectively as a team with all departmental employees.
• Works variety of shifts, as needed to include nights, weekends and/or holidays.
• Complies with departmental and Club policies and procedures.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Massage Therapist Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Holds and maintains a current state Massage Therapist license.
• 2 years' experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge and applicability of numerous massage modalities and body treatments. (Swedish, Deep Tissue, Hot Stone, Rehabilitative, Pre-Natal, Bamboo Fusion, Myofascial Release MSG, Sole Revival and Reiki)

Massage Therapist Critical Skills:

• Ability to read, understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
• Ability to manage a diverse workload and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations.
• Highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks and to deploy resources effectively.
• Must have the willingness to provide exceptional service to members and desire to provide leadership to position the department to achieve the mission.
• Ability to understand verbal and written direction in English.

Massage Therapist Physical Demands:

• Maintains high stamina in hourly increments while performing massage therapy.
• Must be able to lift from 1 up to 50 lbs. for up to 50% of workday.
• Bending and stooping 80% of work shift
• Stands and walks for 95% of workday.
• Requires high energy for 95% of workday.
