Job summary

TRAX International Corporation in Yuma Proving Ground, AZ seeks an entry level Mass Properties technician. You will perform gauge assembly, measurement of sphere weights, and data entry into the database, with guidance from senior technicians.

Must obtain Ammo 45, AA&E, and forklift certifications within 90 days. Strong math and basic computer skills are required, with the ability to work outdoors in high heat and lift up to 100 lbs.

Qualifications

Job Description

Performs the entry level duties of a Mass Properties technician, which include but are not limited to, assembly and disassembly of copper crusher gages, cleaning of gages, the measurement and reading of the sphere with precision measurement devices, then using a trage table to convert the sphere measurement into pressure reading, then input pressure data into computerized database. Assist senior technicians with measurements of ammunition such as, Center of gravity, moments of inertia, and diameter of projectiles. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Qualifications

Pay Rate: $22.54

Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to obtain an ammo 45 certification within 90 days.
• Must be able to obtain an Arms Ammunition and Explosives (AA&E) training certification within 90 days.
• Must be able to obtain a YPG forklift certification within 90 days.

Job Skills Requirements

• Must possess basic computer skills.
• Must be able operate precision measurement equipment such as calipers and micrometer.
• Must possess a strong math background.

Physical Requirements

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
• Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
• Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Must be capable of lifting 100lbs unassisted.
• Must be capable of working in outdoor weather conditions.
• Must be capable of frequent squatting, crouching, and stooping.
• Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs for Mass Properties.

• Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.
• Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.
• Experience using precision measurement equipment such as calipers and micrometer.

Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
• Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
