Job summary

Xcel Energy is offering a Fall 2026 internship in Marketing to support residential energy efficiency programs in the Denver area. You will help manage campaigns, create collateral, and engage with community partners to assist income-qualified customers.

As a current student, you will work with a team in a hybrid setting, gaining real-world experience while contributing to energy efficiency initiatives and customer outreach efforts.

Qualifications

• Current student, junior or higher
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Leadership, Psychology, Sustainability, Sociology, Environmental Studies, or related field
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours/week) and part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours/week) and commute in-person per hybrid policy
• Preferred: at least one prior internship or job experience

The Mass Market Energy Efficiency team is looking for an intern to help manage the marketing and community engagement strategies for our residential programs, with an emphasis on serving our income qualified customers. Our programs help customers understand and manage their energy usage, as well as upgrade their homes to be more efficient.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate marketing campaigns and events
• Updating, refreshing, and creating program collateral including info sheets, marketing materials, and web content
• Lead on community outreach strategy, including coordinating with Red Truck and community partners
• Administrative duties as assigned

This position is for a Fall 2026 start date. This position may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship's initial term based on the candidate's successful performance and Xcel Energy's business needs.

Minimum Requirements

• Current student, Junior or higher
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Leadership, Psychology, Sustainability, Sociology, Environmental Studies, or related field
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week)/ part time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in-person, per our hybrid work policy.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $18.20 to $24.50 per hour
