Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality is hiring a Banquet Server for the Fort Lauderdale Marriott North on-call team. You will help set up banquet rooms, serve food and drinks, bus tables, and tear down facilities after functions.

The ideal candidate has 2-4 years in food service, experience at a 4- or 5-star venue, knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails and spirits, and excellent communication under pressure. Part-time roles include health options, 401K with match, and employee discounts.

Responsibilities

• Set up for functions including draping tables, setting silverware, and centerpieces.
• Serve food and beverages, carry trays, and clear tables during events.
• Buss and reset banquet rooms, tidy back hall and storerooms.
• Assist with AM/PM break stations and coffee/snack service.
• Maintain sanitary workstations and per-event cleanup.
• Explain menu items and preparation methods to guests.
• Address guest requests and ensure high satisfaction.
• Support other team members and monitor safety during events.

Our Marriott Fort Lauderdale North boasts 315 guest rooms, 11,774 square feet of meeting space, and a restaurant.What you will have an opportunity to do:We are looking for a highly motivated Banquet Servers to join our on-call team at Fort Lauderdale Marriott North! Banquet Servers will help to set up and prepare banquet rooms for functions, serve food and drinks then bus tables as well as clear and tear down banquet rooms at the end of the function.Your role:Set up for functions to include draping tables, setting silverware, folding napkins, preparing drinks and put out table centerpieces.Service to include picking up food from back hall, carrying trays to function location, serve food and clear the food from the tables.Break down to include bussing tables, putting away dirty linen and centerpieces, vacuuming.Responsibilities also include cleaning of back hall and organizing of storerooms.Set up for AM or PM break stations that include coffee, tea, snacks, beverages, etc.Assists as needed with event room setup according to meal period and table needsPerforms food & beverage preparation duties such as preparing condiments, brewing coffee and ensuring workstations are stockedServes food and beverages to guests Removes dishes, glasses, silverware or other items from tables/counter tops and takes them to the kitchenCleans and sanitizes tables and/or counters & seats after guests are finishedExplains how various menu items are prepared, cooking methods and ingredientsTakes into consideration any special request and dietary issues made by the guestProvides general property informationOffers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guestsInteracts with staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary informationEnsures final quality check on food and beverage items prior to serving guestsMonitors assigned tables for customer satisfaction, quality and additional serviceAddresses any guest issue promptly and with high concernProvides assistance to other event and restaurant staff as neededMaintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons)What are we looking for?2-4 years of food service experience, preferably Banquet serviceExperience in a 4-star, 5-star venue with synchronized serviceKnowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spiritsAble to work under pressure in a fast-paced environmentA passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guestsExcellent communication skillsThe ability to acquire Safe Food Handlers CertificationHourly rate plus included services chargesPay is $11.98 per hour plus included services charges.Part time associates are offered Hooray health options, 401K with 100% match after 90 days and Marriott brand Employee discounts, plus much more!Come join our team!Compensation:$11.98-$11.98Pyramid Global Hospitality is an equal opportunity employer.
