Job Summary

The Marketing Coordinator helps plan, create, and execute a variety of traditional and digital marketing initiatives that promote Spivey Hall's brand, performances, and education and community engagement programs. This role combines event promotion, print advertising, and community outreach with digital strategies such as social media, email campaigns, search engine optimization (SEO), and paid online advertising. The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller and meticulous project manager who thrives in a dynamic, artistic, and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Campaign Planning & Execution: Assist in developing, scheduling, and executing integrated marketing campaigns across print, digital, and event channels. Maintain the marketing calendar to ensure deadlines are met and deliverables are completed on time. Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to produce campaign materials, including flyers, brochures, digital advertisements, and videos.

  • Content Creation & Management: Draft, edit, and proofread content for websites, newsletters, press releases, and social media platforms. Update website content through the WordPress content management system (CMS), with a focus on search engine optimization (SEO) best practices. Coordinate photography, videography, and graphic design projects to support marketing initiatives.

  • Social Media Management: Develop and manage content calendars across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Create engaging content, monitor and respond to audience interactions, and refine strategies based on performance metrics and analytics.

  • Email Marketing: Develop, build, and distribute targeted email campaigns to promote events, news, and special offers. Personalize content for distinct audience segments and analyze campaign performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.

  • Advertising & Promotions: Support both traditional advertising efforts, including print, radio, outdoor advertising, and sponsorships, as well as digital advertising initiatives such as Google Ads and paid social media campaigns. Monitor advertising performance and provide data-driven recommendations to improve results.

  • Research & Reporting: Conduct market and audience research to identify trends, opportunities, and emerging best practices. Prepare regular reports on campaign performance, highlighting key successes, insights, and areas for improvement.

Required Qualifications
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Two to four years of marketing experience, including work with both digital and traditional marketing channels. Experience in arts marketing is preferred.
  • Skills & Competencies: Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Proficiency with social media platforms, email marketing platforms, and content management systems (CMS). Basic knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, and paid advertising. Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or Canva. Experience with PatronManager is preferred. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred Experience: Experience marketing classical music, performing arts, or other live arts organizations is preferred.
