Job summary

Garmin International is seeking a full-time Proofreader/Editor for the Greater Kansas City area to proofread and edit marketing materials—ads, brochures, presentations, social content, in-store displays, videos, press releases and web copy—ensuring accuracy and brand consistency.

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in English or journalism with at least two years of proofreading/editing experience, be proficient in Word, Acrobat and Excel, and possess strong written and verbal

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English or Journalism.
• Minimum 2 years proofreading/editing experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat and Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform a quality check on marketing materials.
• Review/edit materials for ads, brochures, presentations, social content, in-store displays, videos, press releases and web content.
• Ensure spelling, style, and trademarks are correct and consistent.
• Ensure correct usage and attribution for third-party content and DISCLAIMERS.
• Apply/maintain Garmin style and brand guidelines.
• Incorporate feedback from Garmin legal reviewers to content as needed.
• Collaborate with Garmin legal department on DISCLAIMERS and trademark usage/compliance.
• Edit content directly in web content management systems.
• Remain current on features/benefits of the complete Garmin product line.
• Work within online project management system and adhere to timelines.
