Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking a Marketing Intern to support the marketer, operations groups, and project teams across the pursuit lifecycle. You will assist from proposal preparation to presentations in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities include collaborating on RFQ/RFP responses, developing proposal materials, editing content for clarity, and transforming narratives into visuals while building internal marketing products and conducting market research.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications.
• Strong writing and editing skills desired.
• Ability to translate narratives into visuals for proposals.
• Familiarity with RFQ/RFP processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist marketer and operations groups in pursuit activities.
• Support responding to RFQ/RFP with proposals.
• Develop materials: firm profiles, resumes, project sheets, etc.
• Edit content to ensure quality, readability and accuracy.
• Transform text-heavy narratives into visual/graphical responses.
• Develop internal marketing products.
• Perform market research.

The marketing intern is responsible for assisting the marketer and operations groups, project managers through senior vice presidents, in their pursuits to get work. The marketing intern will learn the strategy in all stages of the pursuit, from proposal preparation to presentations, in a deadline-driven environment.

Some of the marketing intern’s duties include:

• Collaborating with marketer on daily tasks to help with responding to an RFQ/RFP.


• Developing relevant proposal materials (firm profile, resumes, project sheets, etc.).


• Editing content to ensure quality, accuracy, readability, etc.


• Transforming text-heavy narratives into visual/graphical responses.


• Developing internal marketing products.


• Performing market research.

The majority of the position is working with:

• Adobe InDesign.


• Microsoft Office 2016 including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.


• Company opportunity management software.

The successful candidate must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications.
