Job summary

Community Financial System, Inc. (CFSI) seeks a Marketing Designer to develop and implement marketing collateral across multiple business units, ensuring branding consistency.

The candidate will manage campaigns from concept to execution, including design, layouts, and distribution across various media. The role requires a Graphic Design degree and 3–5 years of experience in marketing/graphic design; knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and strong writing/editing skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • B.A. degree in Graphic Design or related field.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in marketing/graphic design.
  • Bank, insurance and/or investment marketing experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

The Marketing Designer will be responsible for the creation and implementation of marketing collateral and programs from conception and creative development through execution. Candidates must be experienced decision-makers that can take input from Management and run with it. Candidate must be able to create and implement a marketing program for several business units with external marketing efforts and internal sales and communications, and be able to maintain the consistency of branding and messaging.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Plan, manage, and execute campaigns and collateral development to generate awareness and action.
  • Make optimization recommendations on current marketing and use findings in planning for future campaigns.
  • Determine needed collateral, work on design/layout, and create pieces against deadlines.
  • Design and repurpose pre-approved content into other formats for distribution and amplification across a variety of media.
  • Create marketing materials to provide support sales or marketing needs, responding to ad-adhoc ad requests related to local initiatives, corporate sponsorships, etc.

    • Direct mail/letters
  • Create materials for use in sales training efforts and promotions as needed:
    • Design sales support pieces for business development activities
    • Create PowerPoint presentations for sales staff
  • Liaise with marketing partners and vendors (purchasing dept, printers, mailhouse, etc.) to facilitate production of marketing materials.
  • Work with outside advertising agencies.
  • Provide other support and administrative activities as needed for the marketing department.
  • Ensure all materials receive proper approvals and documentation. Ensures compliance with all government, insurance or banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one’s duties.
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all training requirements in a timely manner.

Ancillary Duties:

  • As an integral member of the Marketing Department, this position is also expected to provide assistance wherever necessary to help the Sales and Marketing Departments and the company in achieving their annual goals. Some weekend hours may be required during training, events or acquisition conversions.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Requirements:
  • B.A. degree in Graphic Design or related field of study.
  • All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Skills:
  • An analytical self-starter and creative thinker
  • Proficient in the design software Adobe Creative Suite
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented; superior writing and editing skills
  • Flexible
  • Team player.
  • Ability to use the more advanced features of Microsoft Office Suite and website design knowledge a plus.
Experience:
  • 3-5 years of professional experience within the marketing and graphic design field.
  • Experience with developing and implementing marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Bank, insurance and/or investment marketing experience are preferred but not required.
