The Marketing Coordinator supports the day-to-day execution of the Urban League of Greater Philadelphia's communications, social media, and brand storytelling across all platforms and programs. This role keeps the content calendar moving, channels active, and the brand consistent, turning the organization's work into compelling, on-time content that informs, engages, and grows the community. Working under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing Coordinator plays a hands-on role in creating and scheduling content, capturing and producing on-camera and event coverage, coordinating campaigns and email, and keeping projects, assets, and deadlines organized.

Role Specific Competencies
- Social media content creation and channel management, including scheduling and community engagement across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X.
- On-camera presence and short-form video/reels production, including filming, live coverage, and basic editing.

Essential Functions
Social Media and Content Creation
- Create, schedule, and publish daily content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and Stories, tailored to each platform's format and audience.
- Actively engage the community, responding to comments and messages, resharing partner content, and growing reach and engagement across channels.
- Appear on camera and produce short-form video, reels, and live coverage that bring the organization's programs and events to life with energy and authenticity.
- Maintain and execute the content calendar, ensuring a steady, on-brand flow of posts aligned with programs, campaigns, and key dates.
Brand, Design, and Editorial Support
- Produce on-brand graphics, flyers, and social assets at the correct specifications for each platform, applying organizational brand standards consistently.
- Draft, proofread, and edit copy for posts, captions, newsletters, and web content with a clear, accurate, and on-brand voice.
- Help maintain brand kits, templates, photo and video libraries, and shared asset folders so materials are organized and easy to reuse.
- Support the production of larger publications and campaigns, including the annual report, newsletter, and flagship reports.
Campaigns, Email, and Website
- Coordinate and build email campaigns and the organization's newsletter, including list management, scheduling, and basic performance tracking.
- Update and maintain website content and event pages, keeping information current and accurate.
- Support marketing for events, fundraising, and program campaigns from planning through promotion and recap.
Project Coordination and Administration
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines at once, tracking deliverables, approvals, and status across the communications calendar.
- Coordinate timelines, assets, and requests across departments, affinity groups, and external partners or vendors.
- Maintain organized files, trackers, and documentation to keep the communications function running smoothly.
- Provide general administrative support to the marketing and communications team as needed.
Events and Community Engagement
- Capture photo and video coverage at events, programs, and in the community, and turn it into timely social and web content.
- Represent the organization with professionalism and warmth at events and community engagement activities.
- Coordinate logistics and content needs for galas, luncheons, program launches, and community moments throughout the year.
Analytics and Reporting
- Track social media, email, and web performance, and compile regular reports and recaps.
- Use engagement and audience data to inform content decisions and identify opportunities to grow reach.
- Support continuous improvement of the organization's content and channel strategy.
Qualifications And Experience
- A genuine connection to the mission of the ULGP and the communities it serves.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills, with high attention to detail.
- 3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, social media, or content creation.
- A strong portfolio or work samples submitted with the application (e.g., social media content, graphics, short-form video, or writing samples).
- Demonstrated experience creating content and managing engagement across major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X).
- Comfortable and confident on camera, with a lively, engaging on-screen and social presence.
- Strong time, project, and deadline management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities without dropping details.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong copywriting, proofreading, and editing.
- Proficiency with design and content tools (e.g., graphic design, photo/video editing) and email/social scheduling platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field, preferred.
- Experience producing short-form video and reels, including filming and editing, preferred.
- Experience in nonprofit, mission-driven, or community-based organizations, preferred.
- Familiarity with email marketing, website content management, and basic analytics/reporting, preferred.
- Photography and videography skills, preferred.
