Job description

Overview:

  • This position is open until filled with an initial application review to take place after September 18, 2026.
  • The pay rate for this position is $30.05 per hour + benefits at 40 hours per week and is non-negotiable.
  • This position works a hybrid schedule of 3 onsite and 2 remote days per week.

Under general supervision the Marketing Communications Coordinator for SDSU Global Campus supports integrated, omnichannel marketing communications that advance student recruitment, engagement, and retention goals. This position creates and executes audience-focused communications across email, web, social media, SMS, print, video, and other channels to support a consistent experience throughout the student journey.

Responsibilities include, writing, editing, researching, and adapting marketing content for multiple audiences and campaign objectives while ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with SDSU Brand Standards.

Working collaboratively with teams across the organization, the Marketing Communications Coordinator supports integrated campaigns, coordinates deliverables and timelines, and uses performance insights to improve marketing and communications content.

The Marketing Communications Coordinator is organized, proactive, and adaptable, with a strong foundation in marketing, CRM experience, sound copywriting skills, strong critical thinking skills, and an interest in contributing across channels, tools, and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Marketing Communications & Campaign Execution - 70%
  • Support integrated campaigns that advance student recruitment, engagement, retention, and department goals.
  • Write, edit, review, and adapt marketing communications across email, web, social media, SMS, video, print, and other campaign touchpoints.
  • Adapt messaging, calls to action, and other content based on audience, channel, campaign, objective, and stage of student journey.
  • Create basic email and newsletter graphics in the CRM and adapt existing visual assets for marketing communications.
  • Support sensitive or urgent communications.
  • Ensure communications meet SDSU brand, editorial, and accessibility standards.
  • Support the update, organization, and maintenance of content on the Global Campus website(s).
Project Management & Collaboration - 25%
  • Partner with marketing team members and other areas of Global Campus to support project objectives, audiences, deliverables, timelines, and communication needs.
  • Coordinate communication calendars and project timelines, approvals, documentation, and stakeholder follow-up.
  • Collaborate with program partners, faculty, staff, students and alumni to identify newsworthy content for internal/external communications.
  • Collaborate with SDSU Strategic Communications teams in the production of releases and announcements.
  • Contribute to marketing plans, campaign planning, annual reports, and departmental initiatives.
  • Apply performance insights to improve messaging, channel strategy, and campaign execution.
Other duties as assigned - 5%

Qualifications:

Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field.
  • At least two years of experience marketing communications, digital marketing, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in lifecycle/enrollment marketing.
  • Experience supporting integrated mktng campaigns.
  • Experience using mktng analytics, A/B testing, data to improve communications.
  • Experience w/ digital accessibility standards.
  • Experience in higher ed or other complex organizations.
