Job summary

Hill's Pet Nutrition, part of Colgate-Palmolive, is seeking a Marketing Co-Op Intern to support the Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love team. You’ll help with event planning, partner recruitment, and shelter engagement across national conferences and adoption campaigns.

Duration: January 25 to April 30, 2027, with potential extension; location: Overland Park, Kansas; hybrid work arrangement. You must be enrolled in a BA/BS in marketing or related field, with strong communication and organization;

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a BA/BS degree program in marketing, digital marketing, communications, business or related field.
• Preferred: 3rd or 4th year of degree program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs).

Responsibilities

• Event & Logistics Management: plan and coordinate logistics for major national conferences and flagship campaigns.
• Partner Engagement: support recruitment and retention of shelter partners.
• Program & Shelter Support: provide day-to-day resources to partner shelters in Food, Shelter & Love.

Marketing Co-Op Intern

Are you a passionate and driven undergraduate looking to kickstart your marketing career with hands-on experience at a leading global company? As a Marketing Co-Op Intern, you will partner with the Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love team to provide end-to-end support for major national conferences, pet adoption initiatives, and partner engagement. In this role, you will assist with event planning and logistics, drive partner recruitment and retention efforts, and deliver dedicated support to animal shelters nationwide—helping us expand our reach and make a lasting impact on pet adoption.

Duration: January 25 - April 30, 2027 with potential to extend through Summer 2027

Key Responsibilities

• Event & Logistics Management: Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing event logistics for major national conferences and flagship pet adoption campaigns.
• Partner Engagement: Support partner recruitment and retention strategies to grow and strengthen our network of participating shelter organizations.
• Program & Shelter Support: Deliver day-to-day operational support and resources to partner shelters enrolled in the Food, Shelter & Love program.

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a BA/BS degree program in marketing, digital marketing, communications, business or related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Currently in your 3rd or 4th year of your degree program
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, allowing you to articulate ideas clearly and concisely
• A strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, contributing to collective success
• Highly organized with a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in your work
• Proficiency in Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs), enabling you seamlessly navigate our digital tools
• A passion for pets is a plus!

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $22.00 - $25.00 USD

Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.

Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
