The Moab Museum is a nonprofit cultural and natural history museum dedicated to preserving and interpreting the rich natural and human history of Moab and the greater Colorado Plateau. Founded in 1957, the Museum grew from community efforts to showcase local geology, paleontology, archaeology, and stories spanning from pre-historic cultures to pioneer families and mining communities. Today, the Museum is an awarded institution (by the Utah Historical Society in 2024) serving residents and visitors through exhibits, programs, and educational initiatives. With a focus on community stories and regional heritage, the Moab Museum offers an engaging environment for team members who value history, storytelling, and public engagement.
The Moab Museum’s Marketing Assistant promotes the Museum and advances our mission to “share stories.” This non-exempt position is scoped for 20 hours per week, and is compensated with an hourly wage of $24/hour. This position will report directly to the Programs Director. The Moab Museum operates in a co-leadership structure, meaning that the majority of requests and workload will take place in the creative departments, however there will be overlap with operations from time to time, especially during peak fundraising seasons.
