Beaudin Construction is hiring a full time, permanent Marketing & Business Development Manager to work from our Oregon City office. The position requires a high energy, intelligent, self-directed individual to help foster our relationships, strengthen our presence in the market, and create new business opportunities.An attractive compensation will be negotiated with the right candidate to include a competitive base salary, a full benefits package and a lucrative incentive / bonus program based on performance results.

We are looking for someonewhohears about a new project and immediately wants to figure out who owns it, who designed it, and how we get in the room. You should be equally comfortable updating the CRM on Monday, meeting an architect for lunch on Tuesday, attending an industry event Wednesday evening, organizing a client outing Thursday, and submitting a proposal to a prospective developer on Friday. The role requires a proactive team member with technical skills, but also someone who genuinely enjoys getting out to meet people, develop relationships, attend industry events, take clients to lunch, attend industry golf tournaments and networking functions, represent Beaudin Construction in the community, and coordinate networking events for our other business development staff.

The position will focus on:

(1)Managing our marketing systems including CRM, campaigns, events, website, communications, social media, marketing collateral and the business development dashboard.

(2)Actively developing relationships with existing and prospective new clients, architects, developers, engineers, brokers, nonprofits, business owners and other industry partners.

(3)Identifying and pursuing specific job opportunities to include responding to RFP’s, developing proposals, attending interviews and coordinating with our estimating team.

Applicants should have a strong professional network in the Portland/SW Washington construction, development, architecture, engineering, real estate, and/or related business community.

Most importantly, we want someone who takes ownership. The applicant should see what needs to be done, develop a plan, and make it happen without needing constant direction.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Relationships
  • With general direction from management, proactively identify and pursue new client and project opportunities.
  • Build relationships with developers, architects, engineers, brokers, property owners, nonprofits, consultants, and other potential referral partners.
  • Regularly schedule and attend client lunches, coffees, happy hours, site visits, and other relationship-building meetings.
  • Represent Beaudin Construction at industry and events, association meetings, conferences, and networking functions.
  • Regular check-ins with existing clients and strategic partners.
  • Reconnect with dormant relationships and develop new contacts within targeted organizations.
  • Leverage existing industry relationships and personal network to introduce Beaudin Construction to prospective clients and partners.
  • Research target companies, organizations, developments, and decision-makers.
  • Coordinate client entertainment, fishing trips, golf outings, company events, and other relationship/team building activities.
  • Work closely with company leadership to identify high-value prospects and develop strategies for converting relationships into project opportunities.
  • Track leads and relationships from initial contact through active opportunity.
  • Help obtain feedback on project wins and losses and maintain relationships regardless of bid outcome.
Marketing & CRM Management
  • Own and maintain the company's CRM
  • Track last contact, next action, relationship status, priority level, opportunities, and follow-up dates.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the company's Marketing & Business Development Dashboard and prepare for internal marketing meetings.
  • Track active bids, upcoming RFP/RFQ opportunities, strategic outreach, project wins/losses, marketing initiatives, and action items.
  • Ensure assigned follow-ups and action items do not fall through the cracks.
  • Manage email outreach campaigns and track results, including engagement and meetings generated.
  • Create quarterly newsletters and other client communications.
  • Help oversee website updates, project profiles, photography, promotional videos, and marketing collateral.
  • Create social media content with an emphasis on meaningful, professional company and project exposure.
  • Manage company memberships, sponsorships, community involvement, volunteering opportunities, and industry organizations.
  • Plan and coordinate company events, client events, grand openings, golf tournaments, community activities, and promotional initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain marketing materials, pitch books, project sheets, qualifications packages, and other business-development collateral.
  • Create and manage the marketing budget.Track marketing expenditures and evaluate which activities are producing meaningful relationships and opportunities.
  • Report to management on activity, opportunities, wins, losses, budget, etc.
Marketing & Business Development Meeting

The Marketing & Business Development Manager will lead internal marketing meetings and keep the dashboard current and be prepared to report on:

  • Active bids
  • New project leads
  • Strategic client and partner outreach
  • Meetings, lunches, events, and follow-ups
  • CRM activity
  • Marketing campaigns and performance
  • Website, social media, photography, and promotional initiatives
  • Upcoming golf tournaments, sponsorships, community events, and client entertainment
  • Project wins and losses
  • Open action items, responsible parties, and deadlines
  • Priority targets and recommended next actions

The expectation is not simply to report what happened, but to actively drive the next steps.

Self-directed. We don't want to provide a daily task list. We want someone who recognizes opportunities and acts proactively.

Smart and resourceful. You should be able to research an organization, identify the right people, understand why the relationship matters, and determine the best way to make a connection.

Persistent without being pushy. Business development requires consistent, professional follow-up without being overly annoying.

Organized & Prioritized. With hundreds of contacts, dozens of opportunities, events, lunches, campaigns, and follow-ups occurring simultaneously, strong organization is critical as is smartly prioritizing tasks and opportunities.

Professional and Personable. This person will frequently represent Beaudin Construction outside the office and should be comfortable interacting with executives, developers, architects, public officials, nonprofit leaders, and other professionals.

Connected. Existing relationships within the construction, architecture, engineering, commercial real estate, development, or business community are strongly preferred.

A positive presence in the office. We want someone who contributes to company culture, brings energy to the team, helps organize company activities, and actively contributes to office morale.

  • 5+ years Progressive career with demonstrated success in marketing, business development, sales and/or client relations with a Commercial Construction, Real Estate, Architecture, Engineering, or other similar Professional Services Company.
  • Existing professional network within the Portland metro area and/or Southwest Washington strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success working with developers, architects, engineers, contractors, brokers, nonprofits, or property owners is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated success managing a CRM and maintaining a large contact database.
  • Demonstrated success coordinating professional and client events.Demonstrated success creating winning proposals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable with LinkedIn, email marketing, CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, website/content management, digital creative software and other common marketing tools.
  • Ability and willingness to attend occasional early-morning, after-hours and off-site networking and client events.
How Success Will Be Measured

Success in this position will be measured by relationships and opportunities—not simply marketing activity.
