Market Supervisor

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: The Madison Club, located in La Quinta, California.

The Madison Club is seeking a Market Supervisor to join the Food and Beverage Department.

The Madison Club is open during the winter & spring season, and this role will be for a full time, seasonal need from October - June.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the on‑shift leader of The Market, ensuring all operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with Madison Club service standards. Warmly greet members with eye contact, a genuine smile, and professional demeanor. Oversee and be actively involved in the preparation and service of all Market beverages including coffee, espresso, tea, smoothies, juices, and specialty drinks; ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to recipes. Assist when needed in the preparation of Market food items, including pizza oven operations, grab‑and‑go items, daily specials; ensure presentation meets Madison Club standards. Maintain full knowledge of all Market offerings including beverages, retail products, grab‑and‑go items, daily specials, and DLC/Madison Club information. Lead team training on product knowledge, service standards, POS accuracy, food handling, and member recognition protocols. Assist members with retail purchases, product recommendations, and general inquiries; ensure the team consistently provides the same elevated service. Oversee daily restocking, merchandising, and presentation of all Market items including beverages, packaged foods, retail merchandise, paper goods, dry goods, and serviceware. Manage ordering, inventory counts, stock rotation, and vendor communication; ensure accurate par levels and timely replenishment. Monitor product freshness, expiration dates, and quality of all perishable items; enforce waste minimization and quality‑control procedures. Ensure cleanliness, organization, and presentation of all Market areas including beverage stations, pizza oven area, retail shelves, refrigeration units, and grab‑and‑go displays. Prepare Market stations for opening, mid‑shift, and closing duties; verify completion of all side work and operational checklists. Maintain proper food handling procedures per Riverside County Food Handler requirements; ensure team compliance. Verify accuracy of food and beverage orders before delivery; oversee timely delivery across all club areas (pool, locker rooms, golf course, residential, clubhouse). Audit all member checks for accuracy before posting; ensure POS entries are correct and consistent. Audit all check at the end of every service. Communicate member preferences, special needs, allergies, dietary restrictions, and service notes to management and team members. Address member concerns, complaints, or issues immediately and professionally; elevate to management when appropriate. Support all F&B areas when operationally needed; coordinate staffing and coverage during peak periods. Maintain professional appearance and uniform standards; ensure team compliance. Attend all required meetings and training sessions; provide feedback and operational insights to management. Follow all club policies, SOPs, and leadership direction. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Previous F&B, Barista experience preferred. Current Riverside County Food Handler Card Required within 7 days of hire. Food Safety Management Certification. Competency with POS systems. Strong leadership, communication, and team training skills. Ability to follow written, oral or diagram instructions. Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours; bend, stoop, reach, twist. Ability to lift and carry 25-30lbs. Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, wind, and rain. Outgoing, friendly, courteous, patient demeanor at all times. Professional appearance and adherence to uniform policies. Demonstrated competency through training schedule. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and hospitality.

Pay Estimate:

The Company’s good faith estimate of the hourly rate it expects to pay for this role is $28 - $32 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
