Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Market Sector Leader for Program Management to drive growth in Southern California and beyond. Based in Los Angeles with a hybrid work model, the role leads client engagements, pursuit strategies, and program management delivery across education, healthcare, municipal and state sectors.

The right candidate will demonstrate strong P&L ownership, senior leadership experience, and a track record in securing large awards while fostering talent and alliances.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS + 12 years of relevant experience, including 4 years of leadership.
  • Experience in business development across healthcare, education, municipal and state government sectors.
  • Growth experience with PMCM/Program Management awards.
  • Demonstrated experience managing P&L responsibilities (revenue growth, margin, utilization).
  • Experience leading pursuits, contract negotiations, and service initiation for program, project and construction management awards.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sustained annual growth through targeted market strategies and key client engagement.
  • Represent AECOM externally through industry leadership roles and conferences.
  • Enhance AECOM's reputation through participation in industry events and client forums.
  • Advocate for ethical and safe working practices.
  • Identify new business opportunities with Global Business Lines and regional leadership.
  • Identify high risk areas and take proactive actions to improve outcomes.
  • Contribute to global learning and talent development strategy for program management.
  • Assess long-term trends and opportunities in the field and address challenges.
  • Lead attraction and retention of top talent and ensure client account stability.
  • Accountable for overall financial success and delivery of Program Management services in the region.

AECOM is seeking a Market Sector Lead to be based in Los Angeles, CA.

AECOM's Program Management (PgM) business line is a global leader providing program, project and construction management services delivering complex, programs and projects across diverse sectors. With a focus on innovation, collaboration, and excellence, PgM provides end-to-end solutions that drive impactful results for clients worldwide. Our expertise spans infrastructure, transportation, energy, water, and urban development, ensuring that every program is executed with precision, efficiency, and sustainability. We are looking for an individual who can work across these markets, building on established existing relationships with education, local & state government and healthcare clients in Southern California.

  • Drive sustained annual growth through targeted market strategies, key client engagement, and leadership of priority pursuits.
  • Represent AECOM externally through industry leadership roles, conference presentations, thought leadership, and professional organizations.
  • Enhance AECOM's reputation and brand through participation in key industry events, client forums, and strategic engagements.
  • Advocate for ethical and safe working practices.
  • Work with Global Business Lines, Regional leadership, and other Market Sector Leaders to identify new business opportunities and develop solutions to address them.
  • Identify areas of high risk and proactively take action to positively impact program outcomes.
  • Contribute to the global learning and people development strategy for program, project and construction management, including identification of talent gaps and resourcing plans.
  • Assess long-term and disruptive trends in their area of expertise, proactively addressing emerging challenges and opportunities.
  • Actively leads and supports the attraction and retention of talent.
  • Accountable for overall financial success and delivery of AECOM Program Management services in the region.
    • BA/BS + 12 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4 years of leadership
    • Experience in business development across market sectors including: Healthcare, Education, Municipal and State Governments and others.
    • Growth experience including significant PMCM and Program Management Awards
    • Demonstrated experience managing P&L responsibility, including revenue growth, margin, utilization, and operational performance.
    • Experience leading or supporting pursuits, contract negotiations, and service initiation for program, project and construction management awards.
    • Sustaining services as a trusted client account lead.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Growth experience including significant PMCM and Program Management Awards
  • Experience in business development across market sectors including: Healthcare, Education, Municipal and State Governments and others.
  • Experience leading capture on large opportunities and initiation of services
  • Sustaining services as a trusted client account lead.
