Job summary

BIP US is seeking a Senior Market Risk Production Manager to lead the stability, reliability, and continuous improvement of a critical global Market Risk technology platform. About the Role

We are seeking a senior Market Risk Production Manager to lead the stability, reliability, and continuous improvement of a critical global Market Risk technology platform.

This individual will serve as the primary interface between Market Risk business users and Technology, ensuring that the platform remains highly available, predictable, scalable, and responsive to business needs across APAC, EMEA, and North America.

The role requires a hands-on technical leader who can quickly understand complex application environments, diagnose production issues, coordinate resolution across multiple technology teams, and communicate effectively with senior business stakeholders.

The role requires sufficient technical depth to review code, understand architecture, analyze logs and database behavior, challenge technical solutions, and provide credible direction to experienced engineers.

The individual will balance immediate production priorities and incident resolution with longer-term initiatives designed to improve platform resilience, performance, observability, and operational stability.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Stability & Production Management

• Own the day-to-day stability, reliability, and operational performance of a business-critical Market Risk platform.
• Lead production support activities across globally distributed business and technology teams.
• Act as a senior escalation point for high-priority production incidents and service disruptions.
• Drive incident triage, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, remediation, and follow-up actions.
• Analyze recurring incidents and systemic issues to identify opportunities for permanent resolution.
• Improve platform predictability, resiliency, monitoring, capacity, and operational performance.
• Balance immediate production priorities with strategic platform-stability initiatives.
• Ensure appropriate operational controls, monitoring, escalation processes, and support procedures are in place.

Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary Technology partner for Market Risk and Global Markets users.
• Build strong relationships with risk managers, pricing teams, senior business stakeholders, and technology leaders.
• Understand business workflows, operational pain points, priorities, and platform dependencies.
• Translate business concerns into actionable technology improvements.
• Communicate platform incidents, impacts, remediation plans, risks, and enhancement priorities clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Gather user feedback and help ensure that the platform provides a reliable and effective business experience.
• Establish confidence with business stakeholders during both normal operations and high-pressure production incidents.

Technical Leadership

• Develop a deep understanding of the platform architecture, technology stack, data flows, applications, infrastructure dependencies, and integrations.
• Review application designs and technical architecture to identify stability, scalability, and performance risks.
• Analyze application logs, monitoring data, database behavior, and system performance during production issues.
• Read and evaluate application code when necessary to support troubleshooting and technical discussions.
• Guide engineering teams through complex production investigations and solution design.
• Lead technical discussions involving platform resilience, scalability, performance, observability, and modernization.
• Partner with engineering and architecture teams on platform enhancements and strategic technology initiatives.
• Ensure tactical production fixes align with longer-term architectural objectives wherever possible.

Operational & Team Leadership

• Work closely with senior engineers, platform SMEs, application support teams, infrastructure teams, database teams, and business stakeholders.
• Provide technical direction without necessarily serving as a daily hands-on developer.
• Coordinate issue resolution across multiple technology disciplines and geographic regions.
• Contribute to the roadmap for platform stability, modernization, and operational excellence.
• Help establish standards and best practices for production support, incident management, root cause analysis, monitoring, and service improvement.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of technology experience, preferably within Financial Services, Capital Markets, or Risk Technology.
• Experience supporting, managing, or building complex risk-management technology platforms.
• Strong background in Production Management, Application Support, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or Application Management.
• Demonstrated experience supporting highly visible, business-critical production environments.
• Proven ability to lead complex production incidents and coordinate resolution across multiple technical teams.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.
• Ability to work effectively with senior business users and technology stakeholders.
• Experience operating within globally distributed technology environments.

• Understanding of how data and technology support risk calculation and reporting processes.

Deep quantitative expertise or the ability to independently perform Market Risk calculations is not required.

Compensation:

**The base salary range for this role is $160,000 - $185,000**
