The Market Investigator will use detective skills to conduct investigations into company policy, structure, and its employees. They will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing data to identify and prevent any possible loss for all Boot Barn locations, including stores, distribution centers and the SSC.

The Market Investigator may be based in any of the following cities: San Francisco, Sacramento, Las Vegas, Seattle, Denver, or Phoenix. This person will cover stores in Northern CA, NV, WA, CO, and AZ.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Initiate and develop external/ORC investigations through store initiated Auror events, online marketplace review, inventory loss reporting, and supervisor requests by utilizing all available data sources. Create investigations in Auror crime intel platform as required.
  • Partner directly with law enforcement, retail LP’s, and field teams on priority external investigations to ensure suspects are identified and prosecuted.
  • Utilize Auror to manage all external investigations. This includes identifying and tracking priority suspects and communicating with the appropriate LE and Retail LP partners when necessary. Also includes uploading and managing all evidence in the Auror evidence locker.
  • Conduct store level training with store and field staff to safely mitigate external theft incidents. This includes training staff how to identify and report external theft incidents via company policies.
  • Utilize company CCTV systems to conduct external investigations. This includes active live surveillance, post incident review, and saving footage for evidence.
  • Partner with cross functional teams to work investigations as needed or assigned by supervisor.
  • Demonstrates high level of quality work, attendance and appearance.
  • Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers and management.
  • Adhere to all local, federal and state laws in addition to Company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Performs any other duties that may be assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Experience conducting interviews of subjects suspected of theft using industry approved methods.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Loss Prevention roles responsible for external/ORC investigations. Must have experience working with Law Enforcement, initiating and closing investigations, and basic use of cctv and burglar alarm systems.
  • Up to 10% travel to company locations and job-related training events.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Must be capable of establishing functional relationships with both internal and external business partners and contacts.

PAY RANGE: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00/yr*

*compensation varies based on geography, skills, experience, and tenure
