Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our Annuity Product team as a Market Intelligence and Data Analyst!


About the role

As a Market Intelligence and Data Analyst, you will be responsible for the analysis, synthesizing and reporting of competitive developments and demographic trends in our internal annuity sales and product data. In addition, you will model and predict future state scenarios for the competitive landscape, our internal book of business and financial/risk profiles of our product's investment features.


What you will do


  • Gather, analyze, model and present competitive intelligence data to senior management and other key stakeholders.

  • Work in partnership with Product, Sales, Marketing, IT and Business Technology to collect inputs from competitive research data providers, customers, agents/advisors, distributors, and wholesalers

  • Build complex spreadsheets for reporting & charting as well as for modeling competitive landscapes, predictive scenarios, financial simulations, risk analytics, etc.

  • Build and maintain internal tools to share competitive intelligence (e.g., product rates & features, sales strategies, market position, commissions) and internal demographic trends.

  • Gather, analyze, model and present Internal product, sales and demographic data.

  • Synthesize a wide range of inputs to create data sets from which short, intermediate and long term trends are to be analyzed and strategic and tactical questions answered.

  • Provide analytical and design support to the Product, Sales and Marketing teams to enhance product feasibility and development as well as sales and marketing ideas.

  • Identify areas of opportunity for strategic decision-making based on comparing the competitive intelligence data sets and our internal demographic data sets.

  • Design test models and programs and complete special projects as assigned.

Compensation

$31.86 - $53.05 hourly plus eligibility for Company Annual Bonus


Who you are


  • High school diploma required

  • College degree or equivalent industry experience required

  • 2-5 years of experience in the annuity industry / financial services sector.

  • Market research and competitive intelligence experience, including data analysis, trend identification, and reporting.

  • Some familiarity / interest in AI tools.

  • Proficiency in PowerBI, Excel, and SQL or similar data analysis tools.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for business partners.
