Job summary

EDUCATION

A B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field normally required; specialized banking education and training preferred.

EXPERIENCE

A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in related commercial banking, business development, or relationship management positions is normally required.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for advancing the overall success and visibility of the assigned market by supporting market development, relationship engagement, community presence, and collaboration across all areas of the bank. Executes responsibilities in alignment with the market’s annual operating and marketing plans, adheres to all bank policies and procedures, and provides high‑quality support that strengthens customer experience, internal partnerships, and the bank’s brand within the market.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Serves as a key contributor to the overall growth, visibility, and success of the assigned market by supporting business development, marketing, and relationship management efforts across all bank business lines.
  • Partners with the Market Executive/President and internal stakeholders to support the development, execution, and ongoing evaluation of the market’s annual marketing and business development plan, aligning efforts with the bank’s strategic objectives.
  • Acts as a visible representative and ambassador of the bank within the local market, participating in community events, networking opportunities, and Centers of Influence (COI) activities to enhance the bank’s brand, reputation, and relationships.
  • Promotes awareness of the bank’s full suite of products and services, referring customers, prospects, and referral sources to appropriate internal partners across commercial, retail, wealth, treasury, and specialty service areas.
  • Supports the identification and development of new business opportunities by collaborating with relationship managers, lenders, branch leaders, and other business line partners on coordinated calling efforts, joint meetings, and referral strategies.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with COIs, community leaders, and professional networks to generate referrals and market intelligence that benefit multiple areas of the bank.
  • Assists in maintaining a structured pipeline of prospects and referral opportunities and ensures timely, accurate documentation of activities and contacts within the bank’s customer relationship management (CRM) and reporting systems.
  • Provides timely sales, referral, and market activity information to management to support performance tracking, market analysis, and planning efforts.
  • Maintains a thorough working knowledge of bank products, services, policies, and procedures to effectively respond to customer needs and facilitate access to specialized services through other bank departments as appropriate.
  • Serves as a collaborative member of the market and bank wide teams, communicating regularly with management and staff to align goals, share insights, and integrate activities.
  • Attends advisory board meetings, community functions, and internal meetings as required to support market initiatives and bank objectives.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies, including but not limited to CRA, BSA/AML, ECOA, and other regulatory and risk management requirements.
  • Responds to requests and inquiries from customers, prospects, and internal partners in a timely and professional manner and within established policy guidelines.
Ancillary Duties
  • Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re‑designed depending upon individual or departmental circumstances.
  • This is a full‑time position. Work is generally performed during normal business hours; additional hours may be required to meet business development objectives.
  • Regular local travel is required for customer meetings, prospect visits, and networking or community events. Occasional out‑of‑area travel may be required based on business needs.
