SMITHS TUBULAR SYSTEMS - LACONIA is seeking a labeling and marking operator in the manufacturing area in New Hampshire. The role requires reading engineering drawings, determining marking requirements, and applying marks using multiple methods to clearly identify materials and assemblies.

You will barcode or manually enter data, transfer ink marks, and assemble tags on hoses and tubes while maintaining a safe, orderly workspace.

Qualifications

  • Basic math and interpretation of blueprints.
  • Ability to stand, walk and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Understand engineering drawings, factory orders, and routers for marking requirements.
  • Use marking methods (Electro-Etch, Laser, Vibro-Peen, Dot-Peen, Ink) to identify materials and assemblies.
  • Barcode scan or enter identification requirements in the computer.
  • Manually transfer ink marking onto part surfaces and pre-form aluminum tags.
  • Apply aluminum tags, assemble stainless tags onto hoses and tubes, and fit shrink sleeves.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work area and comply with safety policies.

Description/Summary

Under the general direction of the Manufacturing Supervisor, this position is responsible for the accurate labeling of parts and assemblies using various marking methods. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Understands engineering drawings, factory orders, and routers to determine marking requirements
  • Use the appropriate marking method (Electro-Etch, Laser, Vibro-Peen, Dot-Peen, Ink) to clearly and correctly identify materials, test pieces, and other assemblies as required
  • Barcode scan or manually enter identification requirements in the computer
  • Manually transfer ink marking onto part surfaces
  • Pre-form aluminum tags before assembly
  • Apply aluminum tags into place
  • Assemble stainless tags onto hoses and tubes
  • Assemble shrink sleeve over marking as required and set in place
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

  • Other duties may be assigned as needed

Requirements
Education, Certifications, Licenses, & Registrations

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
