Job summary

Hornblower Group seeks a seasoned HSSQE Field Safety & Quality Manager to act as the field representative for health, safety, security, quality and environmental performance across the NYC area. The role partners with local leadership to improve safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and verify effective implementation of corporate HSSQE standards.

Qualifications

• Maritime Degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Promote a proactive safety culture through field coaching and visible engagement.
• Conduct scheduled and unannounced operational inspections and verify compliance with USCG regs and Safety Management System where applicable.
• Perform field audits of vessels, terminals, maintenance facilities, and operations; document findings and track corrective actions.
• Deliver field coaching to vessel crews and shore-side personnel; support drills and onboarding of new managers/captains.
• Conduct operational readiness assessments and verify documentation and crew preparedness.
• Prepare inspection reports with findings and recommendations; monitor corrective actions and identify trends.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, and HR; support regulatory inspections and share best practices.
