Job summary

Hornblower Group seeks a seasoned HSSQE Field Safety & Quality Manager to act as the field representative for health, safety, security, quality and environmental performance across the NYC area. Qualifications

  • Maritime Degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a proactive safety culture through field coaching and visible engagement.
  • Conduct scheduled and unannounced operational inspections and verify compliance with USCG regs and Safety Management System where applicable.
  • Perform field audits of vessels, terminals, maintenance facilities, and operations; document findings and track corrective actions.
  • Deliver field coaching to vessel crews and shore-side personnel; support drills and onboarding of new managers/captains.
  • Conduct operational readiness assessments and verify documentation and crew preparedness.
  • Prepare inspection reports with findings and recommendations; monitor corrective actions and identify trends.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and HR; support regulatory inspections and share best practices.
