Job summary

The Walt Disney Company invites applications for the DCL Environmental Affairs Intern role in Orlando, FL, January 2027 through June 2027. The position offers hands-on exposure to maritime environmental operations, regulatory compliance, and data-driven analysis within Disney Cruise Line.

You will assist with data gathering, waste management, and policy documentation, while developing technical writing and project coordination skills in a global hospitality and maritime environment.

Qualifications

• Desire to pursue a career in Maritime environmental operations, compliance, or policy fields.
• Basic knowledge of environmental programs such as hazardous waste, solid waste, wastewater, etc.
• A working-level understanding of environmental requirements.
• Technical writing skills to complete various reports and operating guides.
• Experience with data gathering and data management.
• Demonstrated/proven strong leadership, technical and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter with proven initiative - able to balance multiple tasks and priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Available to work various shifts and travel as required by project needs.

Responsibilities

• Work with DCL Environmental Affairs teams to become familiar with various maritime regulations and support our vessels and islands operations.
• Work on data gathering and consolidation projects such as Pollution incident and near miss analysis, VGP reports, and Waste Characterization Gap Analysis.
• Support daily vessel and island operations with waste handling, chemical management, and invoicing.
• Review SMS policies and forms for verification and updating to changing regulations.
