Job summary

Oceaneering is seeking a Data Exploitation Analyst II to provide direct technical and analytical support to the OTECH Analysis Center, at a government customer site in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

You will acquire, analyze, compile, evaluate, and review navigation data for standard and non-standard products, perform imaging and sensor data analysis, generate formal technical reports, and deliver briefings to customers; travel for at-sea missions is possible.

Qualifications

• Must have 2–6 years of relevant experience with an Associate Degree or equivalent.
• Background in data analysis and interpretation.
• Background in marine navigation practices and procedures.
• Strong critical thinking and written/verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and image editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop).
• Ability to pass maritime safety training and obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform processing, analysis, evaluation, and exploitation of navigation and sensor data.
• Analyze imagery from side scan sonar, bathymetric systems, and cameras.
• Improve navigation data accuracy via sensor and statistical methods.
• Reconstruct navigation tracks and evaluate system performance for Navy and commercial programs.
• Use GIS-based and navigation software to image, display, and analyze data.
• Prepare formal technical reports and deliver oral briefings to customers.
• Lead assignments and mentor entry-level staff; develop new tools and procedures.
• Travel for data collection missions; durations vary from 15 to 120 days.
