Job summary

Boston Whaler is seeking an experienced Welder to join our fabrication team. You will perform MIG and TIG welds on steel and aluminum, read engineering drawings, and fabricate components for molds and production fixtures.

The role requires strong welding skills, metal fabrication experience, and strict adherence to PPE and safety standards in a shop environment. Collaboration with engineers and supervisors is essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 1+ year related experience.
• Proven welding experience with MIG/TIG on steel and aluminum.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.
• Proficiency with metal fabrication tools including cold saw, tape measure, band saw, general power tools.
• Knowledge of PPE and safety standards in welding environments.
• Ability to read/hear and communicate instructions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on steel and aluminum components and assemblies.
• Fabricate components via cutting, grinding, drilling, fitting, bending, tack welding, finishing and assembly.
• Read engineering drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols to meet specs.
• Operate fabrication equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
• Inspect welds for quality, perform fit-up and alignments as needed.
• Maintain and clean welding and fabrication equipment and spaces.
