You’ll diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing and navigation systems on boats, adapt to diverse vessel tech, and work with a team that values service and safety. Role requires a high school diploma, 2–5 years’ experience, and the ability to lift 50 pounds. This is a full-time, on-site position with benefits and overtime opportunities.

Systems Technicians troubleshoot, repair, and install systems on boats ranging from 30-60 feet. These systems include: DC Electrical Charging & Distribution, AC Electrical, Engines, Generators, Water Makers, Navigation Electronics, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Heating, Communications, and more. This role may also be referred to as Technician (Electrician).
Safe Harbor Great Island Systems Technicians will be trained through a combination of mentoring, ABYC courses, and OEM Product Training to develop their knowledge of: maintenance procedures; installation application requirements; and troubleshooting using both computer interfaces and diagnostic equipment such as multi-meters, refrigeration gauge sets, and product specific tooling.
Systems Technicians execute annual decommissioning and recommissioning procedures on the vessels stored at Safe Harbor Great Island. These procedures are iPad based and guide the technician through the process while capturing critical data for the customer.
