Job summary

AAA USA Inc. is seeking a qualified 1st Class Ship Fitter to fabricate, assemble, and install structural parts of ships on the Gulf Coast. Travel and temporary relocation to Pascagoula, MS, Lockport, LA, and Houma, LA are required as part of major marine projects.

The role offers overtime opportunities and long-term career growth. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, laying out components, and coordinating with welders and other trades to ensure precise fabrication and shipyard

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years of ship fitting or related fabrication experience.
• Ability to read and interpret shipyard drawings and blueprints.
• Proficient use of hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, and measuring devices.
• Familiarity with shipyard safety regulations and procedures.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in variable conditions.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
• Cut, align, fit, and tack structural parts using tools and welding equipment.
• Lay out reference points on ship components using measuring instruments.
• Assemble hulls, frames, and bulkheads in proper alignment.
• Collaborate with welders, pipefitters, and other trades to complete vessel construction.
