Job summary

Bass Pro Shops seeks a Marine Service Technician to service boats, motors, trailers and ATVs in a tim ed and efficient manner according to manufacturer specifications.

You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, install accessories, and perform water tests with customers to verify work and explain operation. This role requires providing own tools and maintaining a clean workshop environment while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent, technical certifications preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and mechanical issues on boats, motors, trailers and ATVs.
• Strong communication skills to advise customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical and electrical problems on boats, motors, trailers, and ATVs per manufacturer specs.
• Installs accessory items as requested.
• Advises customers on technical questions and recommendations to ensure satisfaction.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marine Service Technician perform all service and warranty repairs on boats, motors, trailers or ATVs in a timely and efficient manner according to manufacturer specifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs mechanical and electrical problems on respective boat, motors, trailers, and ATVs.
• Installs all types of accessory items.
• Advises customers on technical questions and recommendations to ensure customer satisfaction
• Water tests unit with customers to verify work performed and to explain the operation of the product.
• Performs rigging as required.
• Maintains a clean and professional work area
• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School education or equivalent experience
• Higher level technical certifications preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Understanding of electrical systems and wiring
• Ability to communicate in a professional manner to our customers and associates
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, associates and customer

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to perform heavy lifting up to and in excess of 50 pounds
• Requires long periods of standing and walking
• Ability to work both inside and outside
• Provide own tools

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT :

Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
