Job summary

Knife River in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Project Engineer to support marine construction projects, coordinating daily field activities with crews and the office to ensure safety, quality, and on-time completion.

You will track production, manage material coordination, and assist with scheduling and documentation, including as-built photos. Travel to out-of-town projects and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of combined experience in field/Project Engineer roles on marine or heavy civil construction projects.
• Valid California Driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• TWIC credential or ability to obtain TWIC.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and Bluebeam.
• Proficient in construction document control including RFIs, submittals, change orders, contracts, and progress payments.

Responsibilities

• Quality & Safety Compliance: Support enforcement of MSHA, OSHA, Corps of Engineers, and company safety policies. Lead safety meetings with field crews. Maintain safety and quality documentation.
