Job summary

Ingalls Shipyard in Pascagoula, MS is seeking a First-Class Pipefitter (Journeyman) to fit piping across varied materials with valves and fittings per drawings. The work may occur at different heights and in confined spaces, with shifts as ships are underway.

Position offers a base pay of $42.24/hour (2nd class) and a per diem of $180/day for days worked (minimum 8 hrs). Duration is initially 1 year, with safety and teamwork emphasized in a fast-paced shipyard environment.

Qualifications

• Basic math, reading and comprehension skills.
• Knowledge of the layout, fit-up, fabrication and installation of pipe, flanges and valves.
• Read and interpret trade drawings and/or blueprints utilizing both metric and standard measurements.

Responsibilities

• Fit pipe of steel, galvanized, copper, copper-nickel and stainless with valves and fittings per drawings.
• Work in shipyard environments including heights, confined spaces, weather, and multiple shifts.
• Adhere to safety procedures meeting industry standards.
