Job summary

Textron is offering a 2027 Intern – Manufacturing Engineer (Marine) position in New Orleans, LA. The program provides hands-on project work, mentorship, and exposure to tooling, process planning, and RCCA activities within a defense/industrial context.

The intern will collaborate with engineering to optimize manufacturability, develop MBOMs, and drive improvements across shop floor processes, while gaining valuable engineering experience and security-clearance eligibility support.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or have completed a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Self-starter with ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
• Effective verbal and written communications skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office suite experience.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Engineering on production tooling and build-plan methodology; analyzes manufacturability of components and assemblies.
• Develops process plans for shop floor methods and opportunities for improvement.
• Projects learning curves and hour projections for new program production; analyzes performance for improvements.
• Creates MBOM and supports MRP processes for order release and sourcing.
• Provides RCCA guidance on production issues related to design, materials, tooling and processes.
• Interprets drawings, operation sequences, tooling functions and process specs.
• Ensures compliance with regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
