Job summary

Sea Pro Boats is seeking a Mold Repair Technician to inspect, repair, and restore surfaces on molds used in boat manufacturing. You will fix cosmetic and structural defects in fiberglass and gel-coated components before lamination, using a range of tools and finishing techniques.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to read technical instructions, and hands-on experience in mold or fiberglass repair.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.
1–3 years mold repair or related finishing experience.
Experience in boat manufacturing preferred.
Detail oriented with good time management.

Responsibilities

Inspect molds for defects affecting gel coat and lamination.
Perform gel coat repairs including color matching, filling, sanding, polishing, buffing.
Prepare surfaces by cleaning, grinding, sanding, and masking.
Mix and apply gel coats, resins, fiberglass mats, fillers, and tooling gel.
Use hand tools, power tools, sanders, buffers, and spray equipment safely.
Ensure repaired surfaces meet quality and cosmetic standards.
Assist in building, modifying, or reconstructing molds as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow safety procedures for handling chemicals, resins, solvents, and equipment.
Document repairs and communicate recurring quality issues to supervisors.
Assist with final finishing and detailing as needed.
