Job summary

US Coatings LLC is seeking a Marine Electrician to support shipyard sandblasting and marine coatings operations. The role involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems powering critical equipment such as pots, dust collectors, and environmental controls aboard vessels and in dry docks.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of 480V three‑phase power, motor controls, and NFPA 70E/OSHA safety standards, with proven troubleshooting skills and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Experience with 480V three‑phase power in heavy industrial settings.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and manuals.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E and OSHA safety requirements.
• Experience with motor controls, relays and VFDs.
• Proficient troubleshooting using electrical test equipment.
• Ability to work safely in confined spaces aboard ships.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems for sandblasting and coating operations.
• Troubleshoot dehumidifiers, heaters, and ventilation equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on motors, control panels, sensors, switches, and power distribution components.
• Inspect wiring, circuits, and components for code compliance.
• Diagnose equipment failures using multimeters and insulation testers.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and manuals.
• Coordinate with production teams to minimize downtime and ensure safety.
• Document maintenance activities and parts usage per procedures.
• Participate in safety meetings and lockout/tagout procedures.
