Job summary

STRUCTURAL seeks a Marine Construction Superintendent based in our St. Pete, FL office to lead field crews on concrete repair and marine projects, coordinating with PMs and division managers. You will guide open-shop teams, ensure safety, plan tasks, and manage production rates while maintaining reporting and look-ahead schedules.

Travel to job sites, sometimes out of state, is required. A strong background in pile jacketing, underwater repair, and corrosion control, plus ADCI or marine

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in general construction with at least 5 of those years in a Foreman or Assistant Superintendent experience working on marine projects with commercial dive teams and coordinating underwater work on up to 3 projects simultaneously
  • Must have experience in pile jacketing and concrete repair in the marine environment
  • Must be willing to travel and work out of town (sometimes out of state) for extended periods of time
  • Proven ability to supervise various levels of field managers as well as crews with moderate subcontractor oversight
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and execute construction drawings and contract specifications
  • Established dedication to safety and ability to display adherence to our Company's operating principles
  • Proven experience to produce look-ahead schedules and work with other construction documents as required by the project
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with the customer, crew and project teams
  • Intermediate computer skills and construction math skills
  • Plus: ADCI Commercial Diving Supervisor or equivalent certification preferred
  • Plus: Experience with structural strengthening, waterproofing, cathodic protection, seawalls, underwater concrete placements, and vessel operation
  • Plus: Prior experience with Power & Industrial and/or Government clients

  • Participating in pre-project and pre-task planning activities then disseminating planning details to field crews
  • Motivating team members to work together to accomplish tasks, coordinate work activities with other construction project activities and assign work to employees, based on material and worker requirements of specific jobs
  • Ensuring crews are operating all tools and equipment in a safe, proper and productive manner
  • Providing training and assistance to crews in the performance of work related tasks
  • Assisting Project Managers in evaluating various production rates related to the project
  • Completing all essential paperwork in a clear an accurate manner
  • Interviewing and hiring of new field employees
  • Providing leadership to our Company's Safety 24/7 culture

Job description

STRUCTURAL is the open-shop contracting business line of Structural Group.

We are currently recruiting for a Marine Construction Superintendent to be based out of our Florida West office which is located in St. Pete, FL.

As a Superintendent you will be responsible for providing high level management to other field leaders, Foreman as well as our open-shop technicians that make our nation's structures stronger and last longer. Projects typically consist of concrete repair (both on land and near water, seawall remediation & repair, corrosion mitigation including cathodic protection, waterproofing, and structural strengthening in commercial and industrial settings.

As a successful candidate, you will be also be responsible for:

Candidates who meet the following criteria may be considered for this exciting position:

    • An ADCI Commercial Diving Supervisor or equivalent commercial diving certification is highly preferred.

    • Experience with structural strengthening, waterproofing, corrosion control, cathodic protection systems, seawalls, underwater concrete placements, and vessel operation

    • Prior experience with Power & Industrial (e.g. power plants) and/or Government (e.g. FDOT, NAVFAC) clients
