Elkhart Community Schools seeks a dedicated marching percussion instructor to lead both battery and front ensemble sections. The role requires coordinating with the Marching Band Director and staff, planning engaging rehearsals, and ensuring high standards of performance and safety at events.
Ideal candidates will have experience teaching or performing in marching bands at the high school or collegiate level, strong organizational and communication skills, and availability for summer rehearsals
Experience teaching or performing marching percussion, including both battery and front ensemble. Knowledge of percussion technique, rehearsal strategies, and marching band performance practices. Ability to instruct students of varying skill levels in both individual and ensemble settings. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with the Marching Band Director and instructional staff. Availability to attend summer rehearsals, band camp, football games, competitions, and other required marching band events. Ability to supervise students in a safe, positive, and professional manner. Previous experience with high school or collegiate marching band programs preferred.
