Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA is seeking a part-time Marching Band 2nd Assistant to support the High School band staff in front ensemble activities, lead rehearsals, and reinforce technique and musical development.

The 2nd Assistant will collaborate with staff to manage logistics, ensure a safe, organized rehearsal environment, and contribute to performances (games, parades, and competitions). A fall season commitment (~200 hours) is required; stipend based on experience ($4,301–$5,590).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in music or education preferred.
• Minimum 1-year experience performing in high school or college groups.
• Minimum 1-year experience instructing in a band setting.
• Strong experience with mallets preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee front ensemble, lead rehearsals, and teach technique.
• Coordinate with band staff on logistics and safety for rehearsals and performances.
• Support student development in musical proficiency and resilience.
