Job summary

Kuvare Holdings is seeking an Internal Auditor to support the MAR compliance program and annual ICFR testing. You will work with business partners to assess control design, document testing results, and drive remediation of identified deficiencies.

The role requires 3–5 years in internal or related audit fields, knowledge of MAR/SOX and COSO, and insurance domain familiarity. CPA/CIA/CISA a plus; strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, SOX compliance, MAR compliance, risk management, or related areas.
• Experience testing internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) and evaluating control design and operating effectiveness.
• Knowledge of NAIC Model Audit Rule (MAR), SOX, COSO Internal Control Framework, and risk management concepts preferred.
• Insurance industry experience, particularly life and annuity insurance, strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with Workiva or similar platforms preferred.
• CPA, CIA, CISA or progress toward certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• MAR Testing Execution – Execute the annual MAR testing program, including walkthroughs and testing of key controls over financial reporting.
• Control Assessment – Assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls and document testing results in accordance with methodologies and regulatory requirements.
• Stakeholder Coordination – Partner with control owners to facilitate walkthroughs, obtain supporting documentation, and communicate testing expectations and timelines.
• Deficiency Management – Identify, evaluate, and document control deficiencies, including assessing root cause, risk, and potential impact.
• Action Plans Monitoring – Monitor action plans completion and validate remediation of deficiencies and support timely resolution of issues.
• Documentation Maintenance – Maintain and update risk and control matrices, process narratives, flowcharts, and MAR-related documentation.
• Risk Assessment & Scoping – Assist with annual risk assessments, MAR scoping activities, and management’s assessment of ICFR.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work with Finance, Operations, IT, Compliance, and other areas to address risks.
• Regulatory & Industry Awareness – Stay current on regulatory requirements and accounting developments.
• Internal Audit Support – Support internal audit initiatives and special projects as assigned.
