Job summary

Google is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to design and sustain manufacturing test processes for data center hardware. You will develop test equipment for prototypes in R&D, and scale tests for global teams, collaborating with design, NPI, and QA to ensure reliability and quality across Google’s infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent engineering experience.
• 5 years of experience in test engineering or equivalent.
• Experience developing and integrating manufacturing test hardware using custom electronics, fixturing, and instrumentation.
• Experience of coding in Python, Bash, and Shell scripting to generate product-specific test plans and executing test processes accordingly.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, optimize and deploy server test platforms for Google compute/storage/ML server at the global manufacturing partner factory with focus on RMA/Refin/Dekit second source.
• Partner with the NPI team to define design for test (DFT) requirements and provide input to Manufacturing Test Strategy.
• Provide caliber manufacturing test engineering support for new and existing products.
• Drive initiatives to improve test process efficiencies, improve test coverage, and reduce cost.
• Analyze, troubleshoot and root cause of manufacturing yield issues and data center field escapes. Drive sustaining test issues to closure with corrective and preventive measures.
