CesiumAstro is seeking an Electronics Assembly Technician to join our startup-like team. You will assemble complex mechanical and electrical components, perform tooling changes, and troubleshoot production issues in a fast-paced environment.

As an Electronics Assembly Technician at Cesium Astro, you will be a key team member in ensuring the quality and delivery of our products meets our customer's expectations. The ideal candidate will have experience in high-reliability industries such as Aerospace, Automotive, or Medical devices. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed in a fast-paced environment and be capable and motivated to build, repair and maintain an SMT circuit card and electronics final assemblies.

As we are a start-up the expectation is that we all wear many hats, and at times you may be asked to assist in additional duties such as performing cycle counts of inventory, assisting in shipping and receiving functions, or other tasks.


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assemble complex mechanical and electrical components, subassemblies, and products using engineering drawings, work instructions, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Perform equipment setup, tooling changes, production adjustments, and troubleshooting to support manufacturing requirements.
  • Resolve routine manufacturing and assembly issues while maintaining established quality, safety, and productivity standards.
  • Assist with the assembly, buildout, and functional checkout of automation equipment, fixtures, and tooling used in production processes.
  • Support the development and upkeep of manufacturing route steps, work instructions, and standardized work within the MES, applying judgment to recommend updates based on production experience.
  • Assist engineering and senior technicians with troubleshooting process deviations and support the introduction of new products and processes into production.
  • Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using precision measuring equipment and inspection tools.
  • Verify completed assemblies meet engineering drawings, specifications, quality standards, and workmanship requirements.
  • Record production, inspection, traceability, and nonconformance information in manufacturing documentation.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, production control, and supply chain teams supporting production activities.
  • Support new product introductions, equipment setup, process improvements, inventory accuracy, and continuous production flow.
  • Provide guidance to Manufacturing Technicians on assembly methods, manufacturing procedures, and production practices.
  • Apply manufacturing procedures, safety requirements, quality standards, and company policies throughout production.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas while supporting 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Recommend improvements that enhance safety, quality, productivity, manufacturing efficiency, and production performance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years of experience in of related experience in manufacturing, production assembly, mechanical assembly, electronics assembly, or related production operations.
  • Experience in interpreting schematics, drawings, diagrams, and other visual aides for assembly.
  • Ability to work with team members to ensure production roles are clear.
  • Ability to regularly communicate with engineers and design staff to ensure designs are being implemented correctly.
  • Experience using tools to make or repair parts and products.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to differentiate between colors to identify colored electrical wires.
  • Attention to detail and the maintenance of a clean workspace.
  • Ability to read parts lists and make sure all are present.
  • Familiarity with undergoing routine preventive maintenance.
  • Experience maintaining inventory and placing orders for more supplies as needed.
  • Basic computer skills to complete quality control forms.
  • Familiarity working in an ESD and FOD-controlled environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow strict safety guidelines.
