Job summary

Integrated Resources, Inc (IRI) is seeking an onsite, 1-year viral vector manufacturing associate in Oceanside, CA. The role focuses on frontline manufacturing, aseptic techniques, and adherence to cGMP, SOPs, and batch records.

You will collaborate with MSAT, Facilities & Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams, perform material weighing and inventory transactions using MES/EBS, and participate in cell culture and UF/DF operations in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree with 2+ years biotech/pharma manufacturing or related experience, OR a HS diploma with 3+ years of experience in biotech/pharma.
• Experience in biotech/pharma manufacturing and quality/engineering roles.

Responsibilities

• Execute frontline viral vector manufacturing on the floor following batch records and SOPs.
• Maintain aseptic technique and cleanroom practices.
• Collaborate with MSAT, Facilities & Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to execute GMP manufacturing runs.
• Perform weighing of raw materials and inventory transactions using MES and EBS.
• Perform cell culture, chromatography, and UF/DF operations for viral vector manufacturing in a cGMP environment.
• Maintain mammalian cell cultures using flasks and single-use bioreactor systems.
• Assist with cell transfection and viral vector harvest.
• Prepare and use single-use systems for solution/formulation and filter integrity testing.
• Assist with manual/automated filling of harvested viral vector material.
• Review in-process cGMP documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
• Escalate processing and equipment issues as needed.
• Review SOPs, MPRs, and other controlled documents.

Job description

Location: Oceanside, CA - Onsite, 5 days/week

Duration: 1 year (possible extension)

Pay rate: $31.77/hour on W2.

Responsibilities:

• Execute frontline viral vector manufacturing processes on the manufacturing floor while following batch records, SOPs, cGMP regulations, and safety requirements.
• Perform manufacturing activities with a right-the-first-time mindset and support a strong safety culture.
• Collaborate with MSAT, Facilities & Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to execute GMP manufacturing runs.
• Perform weighing of raw materials and electronic inventory transactions using MES and EBS.
• Perform cell culture, chromatography, and ultrafiltration/diafiltration (UF/DF) operations for viral vector manufacturing in a cGMP environment.
• Maintain mammalian cell cultures using flasks, CellSTACK chambers, and single-use bioreactor systems.
• Assist with cell transfection and viral vector harvest.
• Prepare and use single-use systems for solution/buffer formulation and filter integrity testing.
• Assist with manual and/or automated filling of harvested viral vector material.
• Follow proper aseptic technique, cleanroom/laboratory practices, GDP, and sound scientific methods.
• Escalate processing and equipment issues as needed.
• Assist with revisions to SOPs, Manufacturing Production Records (MPRs), and other controlled documents.
• Review in-process cGMP documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, inclusive, cross-functional, team-based environment.
• Able to work off-shift hours and weekends.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods.

Basic Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree with 2+ years of manufacturing, quality, or engineering experience in biotech/pharma; OR
• High school diploma with 3+ years of manufacturing, quality, or engineering experience in biotech/pharma.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior biopharmaceutical, cell therapy, or gene therapy manufacturing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cGMP.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and data analysis.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated and adaptable to responsibilities outside the initial job description.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
