Job summary

AV is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to test and assemble Counter UAS (C-UAS) systems in our Albuquerque facility, following engineering drawings and assembly instructions.

The role emphasizes mechanical and electrical assembly using hand and precision tools, testing subsystems, wiring, light machining, and collaboration with engineers to improve documentation and efficiency. 1–2 years in manufacturing or R&D plus US citizenship for security clearance are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required or equivalent
  • 1–2 years in manufacturing production or R&D lab
  • Experience in ESD, FOD and cleanroom environments
  • Experience with hand tools (crimpers, drills, taps, torque wrenches, power tools, air tools)
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Good manual dexterity and basic computer skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • US citizen able to obtain security clearance

Responsibilities

Summary

The primary responsibility of the Manufacturing Technician is to test/assemble Counter UAS (C-UAS) systems and products in our manufacturing facility following released engineering drawings and assembly instructions.

Position Responsibilities
  • Primary duty is the construction of mechanical and electrical assemblies using hand and precision tools
  • Final assembly of systems with the use of heavy equipment such as cranes and forklifts
  • Testing and troubleshooting of sub-assemblies and final assemblies
  • Electrical wiring fabrication / soldering of components and wiring
  • Light machining and fabrication of metal and composite parts
  • Working with other production technicians and engineering to correct and improve upon any documentation, electrical and mechanical designs.
  • Working with manufacturing engineers to improve assembly efficiency, improve product quality, reduce manufacturing costs and validate released assembly/ fabrication documentation
  • Responsible for ensuring that work tracking paperwork is completed as the work is performed
  • May also train other technicians in build and testing process
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience in a manufacturing production environment or R&D fabrication lab
  • Previous work within ESD, FOD and cleanroom environments
  • Experience with hand tools, including crimpers, drills, taps, torque wrenches, power tools and air tools is required
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics
  • Must have good manual dexterity and basic computer operation skills
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with employees in the Company
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail with ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance
Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies
  • Vocational training in a manufacturing trade is preferred
  • J-STD-001 class II or higher solder experience.
  • Work with engineering on new product development efforts where documentation and assembly instructions are not yet finalized
  • Complete assigned tasks under minimal supervision and show problem solving skills
  • Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties
  • Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals shared by the team
  • Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products
  • Is committed to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others, and the company
  • Focuses on teamwork, collaboration and puts the success of the team above one's own interests
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to frequently use hand tools (e.g. clamps) using light, minimal force
  • Involves extensive on-feet activity throughout the shift
  • Frequently lift and/or carry objects up to 50lbs
  • Frequently required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and balance

The Salary Range For This Role Is

$21 - $32
