L3Harris Technologies’ Culpeper site in Orange County is expanding its center of excellence for solid rocket motor propulsion and energetics development. As a Manufacturing Technician B, you will perform routine and repetitive tasks in manufacturing operations under direct supervision, including pressure tests, bonds, assembly, paint, and preparing products for shipment.

Job Description

Our site near Culpeper, VA, in beautiful, rural Orange County (1.5 hours from Washington, DC) is growing! This site is our center of excellence for Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Energetics development as well as high-complexity production programs.

Working under direct supervision, the Manufacturing Technician performs routine and repetitive duties within the manufacturing operations area. This position may perform functions such as pressure tests, bonds, assembly, paint, precision part clean, mix adhesives, torque fasteners, and all other duties and tasks required to assemble and prepare for shipment of products.

You will join an exceptional cross-functional team of engineers and technicians to fabricate components and assemble them into the most advanced solid rocket systems in the world. L3Harris is an industry leading supplier of missile components to the government for use in national defense.

Essential Functions

• Precision Assembly of complex aerospace components.
• Fabrication of components, clean and assemble equipment, cleans tools, parts, and work area, operate machinery.
• Case prep, line and cast, cure, strip, and machine solid rocket propellant.
• Mix or processes liner materials, apply liner to cases and components.
• Maintain records for manufactured products.
• Work safely while producing a high-quality product and maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
• Apply general manufacturing knowledge to basic problems to come up with logical answers.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or lead.
• Ability to obtain US Security Clearance.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0-2 years of prior related experience.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Virginia (outside of Greater D.C. area) is $19.95/hr - $36.78/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
