Job Description

Manufacturing Technician will work with Manufacturing Engineering, Process Management, and Inspection; assembling new and existing electronic circuit products in an ESD and FOD sensitive lab environment. This position is responsible for performing manufacturing functions including assembly, rework, and basic modifications. Primary duties include automated, semi‑automated, and hand install assembly operations. The Manufacturing Technician supports continuous process improvement for quality, cost, and schedule activities. The employee will receive on-the‑job training as needed, but must be comfortable working independently. A successful candidate will transition between various aspects of circuit card assembly, building a variety of different designs with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions
  • Completes circuit card assembly operations on various electronic products, ensuring compliance with required performance specifications.
  • Sets up functional area manufacturing apparatus and completes assembly following methods, procedures, standards, and operation sequences.
  • Works from oral and written instructions, engineering drawings, blueprints, supporting surface‑mount and thru‑hole circuit cards and applicable components.
  • Documents assembly data and results, and provides documentation of failed products.
  • Works to achieve operational targets within the functional area.
  • Works in both team and individual contributor roles, with minimal supervision.
  • Acts as a resource to other employees for various operations within the circuit card assembly processes, possessing multiple areas of manufacturing expertise.
  • Must be able to work under a microscope for long periods of time.
  • Participates in continuous improvement projects targeting waste affecting product quality, cost, and schedule or other items of value to the business.
  • Maintains professional standards of performance, demeanor, and judgment at all times as detailed in company policy and procedure.
  • Supports OT (nights, weekends, extended hours) as needed to meet schedule requirements and business needs.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Management.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience, or 2 years of post‑secondary/associate’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance as required.
Preferred Additional Skills
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Suite and personal computing devices.
  • Proficient in multiple electronics manufacturing processes, including soldering, hand tools, and ESD practices.
  • Experience in hardware assembly, coating, potting, and bonding materials.
