Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Technician – Level 2 for its Space Sector in Promontory, UT. This 100% onsite role requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

You will perform hands-on work manufacturing rocket motor components and supporting safety, quality, and schedule goals. Responsibilities include tooling assembly, surface preparation, reading blueprints, basic math, and working extended hours when required.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Physical stamina to stand long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in protective equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Manufactures rocket motor components and performs tooling assembly/disassembly.
  • Operates equipment and prepares component surfaces, including anodizing and deburring.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area and facilities while ensuring safety, quality, cost and schedule goals.
  • Willing to work shift hours, weekends, holidays and overtime as required.
  • Possesses a valid state driver’s license and can read and follow written instructions.
  • Reads blueprints and performs basic math and measurement functions.
  • Aids in sustaining safe operations and can pass a respirator FIT test.
  • Works physically demanding days and can ascend/descend ladders as needed.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • The Manufacturing Technician performs hands‑on activities/tasks associated with manufacturing rocket motor components.
  • Tasks may include, but are not limited to, tooling assembly/disassembly, operating equipment, component surface preparation, including anodizing, contamination removal and deburring, drilling, assembly, maintaining cleanliness of work area and facilities.
  • Participates as a team member to positively influence and enhance the safety, quality, and cost and schedule performance of their team.
  • Must be willing to perform shift work, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
  • Detail‑oriented and meticulous.
  • Able to pass a respirator FIT test.
  • Able to work a physically demanding day (stand for long periods; work from your knees; ascend and descend ladders; lift, bend, twist, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.) while wearing protective equipment (respirator, coveralls, gloves, eye and ear protection, etc.)
  • Able to read, comprehend, and follow established written instructions without deviation.
  • Perform basic math and measurement functions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Must be willing to perform work on weekends and holidays as required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Knowledge in Anodize/Alodine Processing.

  • Operation of industrial equipment such as cranes, forklifts, precision measuring instruments, and hand tools.
  • Can work independently or in a team environment.

Northrop Grumman Total Rewards

Primary Level Salary Range: $44,400.00 - $74,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
