Job summary

Velo3D is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to assemble and test system components for R&D and production teams, under the direction of process and manufacturing engineers. You will build and test one-of-a-kind components with precision using advanced metrology tools.

The role requires three years of hands-on mechanical experience, basic Excel skills, and forklift experience. Availability for 2:00pm–10:30pm, on-site in Fremont, CA, with travel up to 10–15% and eventual relocation to Livermore,

Position Overview:

Velo’s 3D printers can build parts that are impossible for every other metalworking machine or technique in the world. As part of this cutting-edge technology, the components that form part of these machines must deliver high performance while maintaining reliability. As a manufacturing technician, you will work under the direction of process and manufacturing engineers to build and test one‑of‑a‑kind system components for R&D and manufacturing teams.

Shift Schedule & Location

• Candidates must be available to work Monday through Friday from 2:00pm to 10:30pm with occasional overtime as required.
• Candidates must be able to work on‑site in Fremont, CA for the first 6–8 months, after which the position will be based in Livermore, CA

Travel Requirements

Candidates will be required to travel approximately10–15% of the time, including trips of up to one week at a time, to support machine installations at various locations throughout the United States.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and at least three years of formal or informal hands‑on experience with mechanical systems and components.
• Preference will be given to those possessing experience with metrology equipment or specialized machinery.

The starting base hourly rate for this full‑time position is between $27.00 and $29.00. This hourly rate range reflects the minimum and maximum target for this position in the U.S. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience, job‑related skills, related education, work location, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. In addition to a competitive base salary and a comprehensive benefits package, this position may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in a bonus and equity program, as applicable.
